Summer Travel: Ready for the Beach?

Summer months are almost here! The beach waves are calling out to me! Last year was an incomparable summer and how I wish we could all be back again in Boracay!  Just a few more beach outings and I know I’ll learn how to swim.

A week-long vacation by the coast would be fantastic; to wake up by the shore in time for the sunrise; to breathe in fresh air; to run with our dogs by the shore; to feast on freshly-caught fish and shell fishes grilled on the coals; a tall glass of iced lemonade; to sit on the sand under the shades of a palm tree; to walk bare feet on the powdery sand; ahhh, simple pleasures that I imagine.

What are you summer plans?  Wouldn’t it be nice to just pack your bags and go?

Pretty Pastels for February

It isn’t too late for me to feature Free People’s 2012 February Catalog.  Lots of pastels in blue, pink, and yellow;  light and gauzy tops which are perfect for the summer. My super favorite: the Pacific Trails Pants from the FP One exclusive collection.  This flowing, wide leg pants has floral patterns, and like the other pieces from the FP One collection, is inspired by the traditional craftsmanship of Indian women.

Eight Fabulous Reasons Why I Buy and Wear Vintage Clothing

This post is republished on my new blog:  The Fashion Cat DiariesZooey Deschanel plaid vintage gown

I confess! I love wearing vintage and I enjoy shopping for vintage clothes.  I can spend hours, patiently rummaging through racks and piles of old clothes, in search for great vintage finds.  And once I found the ones that I want to take home, I feel good and I can’t wait to wear it, my style.

So here are my reasons why I buy and wear vintage outfits:

Never go out of style.  Classic vintage styles never fade away despite the coming and going of trends.  Also, fashion styles tend to repeat over the years so a certain style never completely fades away.  Read on…

Here is my favorite girl, Zooey Deschanel wearing a plaid vintage gown at the 2012 Writers Guild Awards.
